UMIAQ
UMIAQ (formerly UIC Oilfield Services) was established in 2006 to meet the growing service demands of resource industries. Principal staff members have worked together for nearly a decade on energy development projects throughout Alaska. We optimize efficient project startup by integrating stakeholder engagement strategies into regulatory planning to develop an all-inclusive plan for project success.
The UMIAQ team knows the politics, culture, land use, regulations, and environmental and engineering conditions specific to arctic and subarctic Alaska, offering a distinct advantage to firms not based in Alaska by providing reliable local knowledge and expertise. We understand the inherent sociocultural issues that are part of major resource development projects in Alaska, and we assist our clients early in the project development cycle to ensure action is taken to avoid any project delays due to subsistence activities or land use issues.
UMIAQ is committed to working with both the public and private sectors in planning for all phases of future energy development, which is critical to a vital and sustainable economy for our North Slope communities.
Our services include:
- Regulatory Planning
- Stakeholder Relations
- Response Planning & Operations
- Geospatial Analysis
- Development Engineering
- Civil Construction
- Logistics & Full-Service Camps
Through excellence in all that we do, UMIAQ intends to be the best in its chosen industries. We will accomplish this by providing superior client service, developing and rewarding our employees, creating value for all stakeholders, and being environmentally and socially responsible.
